If you have been told by your doctor that you can not heal your inflammation through diet, please reconsider this notion. Our ancestors healed this way for thousands of years and there is no reason that you can’t either.
Most Importantly, Eat Your Greens
Greens are probably the best of the anti inflammatory vegetables. Greens such as kale, spinach, and lettuce contain high amounts of carotenoids – the most important ingredient for fighting inflammation. Other important inflammation-fighting ingredients in greens are vitamins K and E. While these do exist in almost every other vegetable, they are much higher concentrated in dark greens.
Peppers and Spices
Peppers and spices are not only a very delicious seasoning to foods, but also are very potent in fighting inflammation. Oregano, turmeric, ginger, and green tea are among the best that you can consume for fighting inflammation. These spices derive directly from vegetables and give you a huge dose of vital properties for fighting inflammation. Peppers are also very high in anti-oxidants, which are crucial in reducing inflammation.
Eat More Vegetables, But Avoid Unhealthy Food
Load up on vegetables to reduce your inflammation, but make sure to avoid the huge mistake a lot of people make. Many people add fruits and vegetables to their diet but still eat unhealthy food as well. Even if you eat very healthy food, the unhealthy food will greatly reduce the benefits of the healthy food that you are eating. So while you are adding anti inflammatory vegetables to your diet, also make sure to eliminate pro inflammatory foods, such as sugar and refined grains.
Quick Recap:
Nature provides all that we need to fight inflammation. We just need to utilize it. Add anti inflammatory vegetables to your diet by incorporating salads and plant-based meals into your day, and this will lead you to a path that can potentially eliminate your inflammation for good.
